Last week saw the opening of the Old Skeena Bridge in Terrace, and another major bridge project in the region is now set to follow suit.
After two full years of construction, work to replace the Haisla Bridge, which spans the Kitimat River, will wrap-up next month.
That work saw them replace the original, 69 year old bridge with a modern two-lane structure with improved sidewalks and adjacent walkways.
A grand opening for the new Bridge will be held on June 17th, between 11:00 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon.
There, the District will be unveiling the 8 illuminated art panels which will be installed along the length of the bridge.
Created by artists Nathan Wilson and Paul Windsor, the panels depict the eight current and memorial clans of the Haisla Nation.
Attendees of the opening will also be welcomed with food, fun activities, an array of speakers, and booths from groups involved in the project.
