British Columbians who drive less than 10,000 kilometres a year may be eligible for a new, distance-based discount on their car insurance.
ICBC’s new discount will save eligible drivers between 10 and 15 percent on their optional coverage, with less driving earning a higher discount.
In order to qualify, drivers must provide two odometer readings one year apart proving they drive less than 10,000 kilometres a year.
Drivers must also have a valid 12-month Autoplan policy with optional coverage with an effective date of June 1st of this year or later.
Those who already receive the existing low-kilometre discount for driving under 5,000 kilometres may be eligible for both discounts.
