Hot and dry conditions continue to pose challenges for wildfire crews battling the province’s last remaining fire of note in the North Peace.
Now covering just under 175,000 hectares in the Tommy Lakes Area, the Donnie Creek blaze continues to prompt evacuation orders in the region.
Orders and alerts are in place for a slew of properties east of Highway 97, north of Prespatou, and south of the Fontas River.
Just east of Kotcho Lake, near the Alberta border, the 8,000 hectare Tooga Creek fire is also prompting an evacuation alert.
Meanwhile, a human-caused wildfire which sparked just east of Kitsumkalum Lake last weekend has now been fully extinguished by wildfire crews.
