Prince Rupert has released their 2022 annual report for consideration.
The report lists the city’s ongoing work and progress on their multiple infrastructure improvements and developments.
In 2022, the city saw 332 metres of water mains replaced and the switch to Woodsworth Lake water supply following the completion of their dam.
For a total of just over $42 million in expenses, some of that work was completed with the help of the $51.9 million in revenue gathered.
Though it’s not all development, as the fire department detailed just over $2 million in property damage or losses, and responded to just over 1,200 emergency incidents.
Meanwhile, the RCMP responded to 9,001 calls for service and referred 608 cases to the victim services program.
Moving forward, the city plans to focus on improving their fiscal health, dealing with their $600 million infrastructure deficit, and encouraging housing development projects.
