Canada and BC are investing $3 million in CityWest to help bring high-speed internet access to more than 800 new households in the northwest.
With the funding, CityWest will be able to extend their network to cover Smithers, Dease Lake, Iskut, Lach Klan, and Lax Kw’alaams.
That will cover nearly 500 households in Indigenous communities, as government looks to fill service gaps in underserved communities.
It’s part of an $830 million partnership between Canada and BC which aims to ensure all Canadians have access to high-speed internet by 2030.
