Police in Masset were able to arrest an assault suspect this weekend after they became a cliche by returning to the scene of a crime.
Initially, RCMP were called out to a residence on Raven Avenue just before noon last Saturday for reports of a disturbance.
Once on scene, it was determined that an assault had taken place which had left one resident in need of medical attention.
Damage was also dealt to a window and other parts of the home, before the suspect could flee the scene.
Officers were unable to locate him in the immediate aftermath, but would be called back to the scene later for reports he had returned.
They would locate him in a nearby residence and acquire a search warrant in an effort to apprehend him.
But, now armed with a firearm, the man would refuse police demands to exit the home for several hours before finally complying.
He was arrested and later released to appear in court on charges of assault, mischief, careless use of a firearm, and failure to comply.
