Central Mountain Air will be providing flights for crews at Red Chris for at least the next 5 years, after signing a new deal with Newcrest Mining.
That will see them offer chartered flights to and from the Dease Lake Airport, which is operated by the Tahltan Nation Development Corporation.
As the Corporation’s official aviation partner, and having provided chartered services since 2018, CMA was the natural choice to continue the flights.
Passenger transportation between the airport and the Red Chris site is also provided by the TNDC through an existing partnership.
It’s one of a number of services provided to Red Chris by the TNDC, which also includes construction, road maintenance, camp services, and more.
Since 2012, they have spent over $295 million on mineral exploration, leading to over $1 billion in projected production values.
