Police in Quesnel are urging drivers of all vehicles to exercise caution on the roads, following a pair of fatal collisions involving small vehicles.
One incident saw RCMP called out to Dragon Hill near Highway 97 last Saturday morning for reports of a deceased body in the ditch.
Officers determined that the man had been riding his bicycle downhill when he struck a light pole, before ending up in the ditch.
They say the rider had not been wearing a helmet at the time, and that the bike did not appear to have functioning breaks.
Just after 7:30 last night, police were again called to a fatal collision, this time involving a UTV in the Blue Lake area off Moffatt Lake Road.
While the driver of the UTV suffered only minor injuries, the 52 year-old passenger sadly passed away as a result of her injuries.
Police believe alcohol to be a factor in the collision, but are still investigating.
