With the Northwest staring down the barrel of another heatwave, the Wildfire Service is set to ban campfires in some regions once more.
Currently, Category two and three open fires are banned across BC, with wildfires already burning more than 1 million hectares so far this season.
Campfires are also banned in the entire Prince George Fire Centre, as well as the Nadina Fire Zone in the Northwest Fire Centre.
But, as of noon tomorrow, both the Cassiar and Bulkley Fire Zones, also in the Northwest Centre, will be joining them with bans of their own.
Along with campfires, the ban also covers firworks, sky lanterns, burn barrels or cages, decorative torches, chimineas, and air curtain burners.
