Speedy response from fire crews preserved Terrace Mountain last night.
Tuesday evening, members of the Terrace Fire Department were in the southside area when they caught a glimpse of a brush fire across from Walmart.
While extinguishing that blaze, officers noticed smoke on Terrace Mountain above the old bridge.
Shortly after, teams from both the fire department and BC Wildfire Service were on site by 8 pm.
Believed to be human caused, the blaze burned until around 9:30 pm when crews felt confident the coast was clear.
Currently under investigation, the cause of both fires is believed to be human caused.
Though no information has been provided on a suspect, Fire Chief Chad Cooper does not believe the two incidents to be connected.
Fire crews are reminding the public to use caution with anything that could cause a spark in the dry and flammable forest.
