With record breaking heat blanketing the Northwest, and heat waves in place, the City of Terrace is looking to conserve water.
As a result, they have placed a temporary ban on lawn watering, beginning this afternoon, and extending through July 20th.
Hand sprinkling of flowers, vegetable gardens, and shrubs with a controlled nozzle may continue during the ban.
Those restrictions are being put in place in an effort to ensure fire crews have enough water to deal with whatever blazes may pop up.
It comes just days after a pair of human-caused wildfires sprouted up in the City, while fire danger ratings remain at high.
Category two and three fires are also currently banned in the City, with campfires also banned in the Cassiar, Bulkley, and Nadina Fire Zones.
