A series of evacuation alerts and orders have been expanded as wildfires span the Bulkley and Cariboo regions.
An order has been issued for Lucas Lake covering all properties at the east end of the Nechako reservoir.
That adds to an alert covering all properties south of the Power Line Right of Way, to the southern boundary of the Bulkley Nechako regional district, and west of the Blackwater road.
Though that alert excludes the Village of Fraser Lake, it’s due to a group of wildfires in the Nechako Southeast area.
Those same fires are prompting alerts from the Cariboo Region spanning the Lhoosk’uz, and Rainbow Lake areas and orders for the Teepee Lake Area.
Near Houston, the 625 hectare Peacock Creek fire is prompting a new alert for all properties on Buck Flats Road south of Harding Road and on Mountain View Drive south of the cemetery.
Evacuation orders have been expanded for the 4,200 hectare Parrot Lookout fire for properties accessed by Colleymount Road between McClure Pit and the Henkel Creed forest service road.
As well, the alert for that fire has expanded to cover the south of the pipeline right of way and east from McClure to Brown Road.
