Construction in Prince Rupert has prompted a boil water notice.
The short term advisory is required in order to isolate the city’s major water supply main in the Crestview area.
Effective immediately, the notice will be in place until the proper testing is done and the water supply is re-routed.
Residents are advised to boil the water for at least 1 minute before use.
That includes when brushing teeth, cleaning vegetables, and making ice.
Although awaiting direction from Northern Health, the city anticipates that the notice won’t last more than 72 hours.
