Northern BC saw more housing sales in the second quarter of 2023 than the first, breaking a downward trend which began at the start of last year.
As a whole, the region saw 981 units sold between April and the end of last month, up from 726 sales through March.
But despite that, the region has still seen roughly 900 fewer sales through the first six months of this year than last.
In the Terrace area, a total of 147 properties sold through June, for an average of $439,000, down from 172 at an average of $409,000 in 2022.
Prince Rupert saw 79 sales for an average of $388,000, compared to 115 sales for an average of $455,000 through last June.
A total of 92 units have been sold in Kitimat through June for an average of $589,000, compared to 104 at a $346,000 average last year.
