All stop-work orders which had been in place along the Coastal GasLink pipeline’s 670 kilometre route have now been lifted.
In late-May, CGL had been staring down the barrel of ten stop-work orders, all issued due to sediment and erosion control failures.
Since then the Environmental Assessment Office has conducted a number of follow-up inspections, confirming the sites are back within compliance.
Orders which had covered sections at the Morice River near Houston, and Clore River near Kitimat were lifted last month.
Just last week, the EAO lifted another four stop work orders, all issued in the Upper Anzac Watershed east of McLeod Lake in April and May.
That had left one remaining stop work order, also in the Upper Anzac Watershed, which the Office has now lifted as well.
CGL has been employing a team of over 700 to work on monitoring and implementing sediment and erosion control measures for months.
You can find all of the EAO’s documents on the project at this link.
