A boil water notice which had been in place in Prince Rupert since last Thursday has now been lifted.
City officials had issued the order at the request of Northern Health due to the impacts of construction on the supply main in the Crestview area.
Now that chlorine levels are back within acceptable levels, the authority has cleared the system for regular use once more.
Residents in the Crestview area who notice a milky quality or sediment in their water should run their taps on cold, preferably in a bathtub or laundry sink, until it runs clear.
After issuing the alert on Thursday, the City was notified that not all landline phone users received the alert.
But they say that the issue has now been fixed, and are advising residents to sign up for emergency alerts through this link.
