BC has seen a drop in total wildfires for the second day in a row, with crews making progress on the nearly 80 fires burning in the northwest.
An evacuation order which had been in place south of Houston has been replaced with an alert, and an alert area just to the north rescinded.
But, separate alerts and orders east of Houston remain in place, as do those south of Babine Lake, and between Burns Lake and Tintagel.
All orders for the Parrot Lookout fire on the northwest end of Francois Lake, have now been lifted, though a large area remains under an alert.
An order around Andrew’s Creek west of Ootsa Lake has been maintained, as have alerts west of the Omineca Provincial Park.
South of there, alerts south of Noonlang Lake, and around Great Beaver Lake north of Vanderhoof have both been maintained.
And alerts and orders are still covering the southeast Nechako area, south of Fraser Lake and a portion of the northern Cariboo.
