City crews in Prince Rupert have been dealing with another slew of water breaks due to construction work.
Earlier this month, the city had to issue a boil water notice in order to re-route the water supply from the Crestview area main.
That was due to construction work which the city says is now causing more main and service breaks than normal.
Just overnight, crews were notified of three new service breaks on top of the several that are already active.
Interim repair work on the aging water infrastructure has been ongoing since December, which the city acknowledges may be contributing to the new breaks.
With that, the city continues their work on securing funding for approximately $600 million in infrastructure repairs.
