RCMP in Terrace took to the air last weekend in an effort to crack down on a trend of unsafe off-road vehicle use in the area.
Utilizing a helicopter, officers tracked the activities of ATVs on the land, handing out a total of fourteen violations by the end of the weekend.
Those efforts followed a string of complaints from residents and a slew of instances of suspects fleeing from police off-road.
Conservation officers and police dog services also helped to conduct traffic stops on the land.
In addition to violations and driving prohibitions, the operation also resulted in the seizure of drugs, weapons, and an ATV.
