A restriction has been put in place by the Northwest Fire Centre due to the Peacock Creek Fire.
In the Nadina Fire Zone, people are no longer permitted to enter a zone just south of Houston in order to protect the public during wildfire suppression efforts.
The restriction took effect at noon today and will remain in place until August 17 at noon unless otherwise rescinded.
That boundary starts at the junction of the Morice Forest Service road and extends south, towards the Carrier forest service road.
Members of the public who are travelling to or from properties not under an evacuation order, or managing livestock on private property may be allowed to enter the restriction zone.
