Sediment and erosion control challenges are not the subject of Coastal GasLink’s newest warning from the Environmental Assessment Office.
But, while re-inspecting a site in the Clore River watershed, roughly 47 kilometres southeast of Kitimat, inspectors noted further non-compliance.
It stemmed from failures to adequately dispose of non-hazardous recyclable materials from workforce accommodations.
That resulted in the camp’s second warning letter over the same issues.
Should CGL fail to remedy the issues, they could face a fine of $1 million for the first conviction, and up to $2 million for each subsequent conviction.
