With severe drought conditions and higher temperatures in the forecast, the province expects wildfire risks to remain higher than normal.
Throughout the rest of the wildfire season, the province expects the increased fire activity to impact most of the country between BC and Quebec.
Currently, the Skeena-Nass Basin is sitting at level 3 on BC’s 5 level drought scale, while the Bulkley-Lakes sits at level 5, indicating adverse impacts.
With that, there are currently 378 active wildfires burning in the province.
