Removal of the canopy overhanging the 4600 block of Lakelse Avenue starts today.
The City of Terrace reminds people to obey all signage and barriers that are in place.
Following the removal, both the facades of the building and the sidewalk will be restored.
It’s also expected that a conceptual design will be presented to city council this fall, created by the city and the Terrace Downtown Improvement Association.
The city says that design could feature a complete reconstruction of sidewalks, curbs, and the road surface.
Todays work is expected to be completed within several weeks through $500,000 of a provincial grant.
