A man who was fired from his job as principal of a Lax Kw’alaams school in 2018 has now had his teaching license revoked as well.
Kelly Joseph Rambeau was fired from the top spot at the Coast Tsimshian Academy that October following the discovery of financial irregularities.
An audit had determined that, between 2015 and 2018, Rambeau siphoned as much as $337,000 from the school’s coffers.
That came mostly through the submission of reimbursement forms for expenses which had already been covered.
A lawsuit filed by the school in the wake of the firing was settled last year, with Rambeau agreeing to pay $175,000 to the school and apologize.
