Terrace City Staff have launched a zoning amendment which would bring a range of much needed health services to the city.
If approved by Council, the site specific amendment would allow for health service facilities to run out of eleven units in the Keith Avenue Mall.
Northern Health intends to lease and renovate four of the units from the current strata owners to create an integrated facility at the site.
It would include clinics for pediatrics, women’s wellness, and gynecology at a site that is within view of the new Mills Memorial Hospital.
Located just east of the Sande Overpass, the mall was determined as the most ideal location for services, once the downtown was ruled out.
Council gave two of three readings to the amendment yesterday, but will need to schedule a public hearing before it can appear again for adoption.
