Seven projects in the Skeena Region are among 42 receiving fresh funding from the Forest Enhancement Society of BC.
Most of the funded projects in the region will help to collect and transport low-value pulp logs from various regions to mills on the south coast.
Just over $1.1 million will help the Canadian Resurgence Development Corp transport logs from the Nass Valley.
Another $837,000 will cover low-value stands in the Meziadin area through the GEDC Fibre Recovery Project.
Kalum Ventures and Kitselas Forest Product split $890,000, and Coast Tsimshian Resources will get $570,000, all to cover the Terrace area.
Funding will also support similar projects undertaken by the Gitanyow Economic Development Corp, and Tahltan Forestry Ltd.
Meanwhile, $558,000 will help the Witset First Nation grind wood waste materials in slash piles to be used at the pellet mill in Houston.
