An upcoming art show in Terrace is aiming to spark a dialogue and combat stigmas faced by artists living with mental health challenges.
Titled “Art Tracks: Come walk with me in my shoes”, the exhibit will feature the works of local artists of all ages living with mental illness.
It will include a diverse range of styles and disciplines, from fibre art, to written art, to visual art and everything in-between.
A public art table will also be available for visitors to create their own artistic responses to the show and contribute to an on-going dialogue.
Hosted at The Garage Community Space, the exhibit is being put on by Terrace’s Northern Health Mental Health Advisory Committee.
It will run from October 3rd to the 6th, with doors open from 10:00 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon each day.
Art workshops are also being hosted for high school students to help them integrate their experiences and feelings with art.
