Two northern communities are doubling up on protesting today in the name of children.
The 1 Million March 4 Children is meant to speak against what they say is indoctrination and sexualization.
Specifically, marchers are against gender ideologies, pronouns, sexual orientation curriculums, and mixed bathrooms in schools.
Residents in both Terrace and Prince Rupert have decided to counter-protest in support of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
In response to the march on Facebook, Prince Rupert Mayor Herb Pond said that a free exchange of ideas is the cornerstone of a functioning democracy.
He also said that he and his council will stand with those who are vulnerable and quiet and encourage others to be mindful of those affected.
Residents in Prince Rupert have met marchers at City Hall to participate in the peaceful demonstration.
Meanwhile, in Terrace, counter-protesters have met marchers outside the School District 82 office, and plan to move to city hall with the march at 11 a.m.
