BC Ferries Cancels Northern Adventure Sailings and Haida Gwaii Trips Amid Heavy Storm Warnings

BC Ferries has cancelled a number of sailings today as they prepare for a massive storm system to roll through the west coast.

Known as a bomb-cyclone, the stormfront will bring intense rainfall and winds gusting up to 110 kilometres an hour throughout the day.

As a result, BC Ferries has cancelled both of the Northern Adventure’s planned trips between Skidegate and Prince Rupert today.

Travellers looking to get from Skidegate to Prince Rupert will need to wait until the 8:00 departure tomorrow evening.

Those looking to do the opposite have a longer wait ahead of them, with the next sailing leaving Prince Rupert at 8:00 Wednesday morning.

All trips between Skidegate and Alliford Bay planned for today have also been cancelled as a result of the storm.
