A new photo exhibition in Williams Lake seeks to honour residential school survivors while helping to connect the past.
Titled Remembering Our Friends, the exhibit features countless historic photos from the former St Joseph’s Mission Residential School.
Each were gathered by the Williams Lake First Nation, who hope attendees will be able to help identify some of the subjects in the photos.
Information gathered will go towards the on-going investigation at the site, led by the Nation, which completed its second phase in January.
Children from at least 48 Nations were forced to attend the school between 1886 and 1981, and all residents are invited to lend an eye.
Each day of the exhibition will also feature the screening of a different documentary between noon and 1:00.
