A pair of fires in the Northwest over the past couple of days resulted in significant damage to a pair of structures, but luckily, no injuries.
One sparked on Monday in a duplex located on the 2500 block of Pear Street, calling the Terrace Fire Department into action.
Crews were able to limit the fire damage to one unit, though smoke damage reached both the other unit, and caused visible damage to the exterior.
Through investigation, crews determined that the blaze was started by a phone charging on a bed, and are warning residents to exercise caution with electrical devices.
Meanwhile, Prince Rupert Fire and Recue crews sprung into action that night after a trailer on 11th Avenue East went up in flames.
Crews were able to containe the flames to the trailer and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring properties, including the nearby Parkside Motel.
Exactly what led to the second blaze remains unclear.
