A pair of zoning amendments are a step away from approval, after receiving no feedback during a public hearing at Terrace Council last night.
Following the hearings, Council gave third readings to each bylaw, which would impact a pair of prominently positioned lots on Keith Avenue.
One would see a 150,000 litre storage tank installed at NSD Development’s inland port and transloading facility next to the Sande Overpass.
It would be used to store a mix of fatty acids and methanol, which would be mixed with diesel to create bio-diesel.
An already confirmed client would be shipping the diesel into the facility by rail, where it would be mixed then sent out on trucks.
Just east of there, the second amendment would allow for four units in the Keith Avenue Mall to be converted to provide health services.
It would allow for clinics focused on pediatrics, women’s wellness, and gynecology operated by Northern Health to be located at the site.
Both proposals received no public input, but must still return to Council once more to gain final approval.
