Friends, family, and police in the Vanderhoof area are onto day three in the search for a missing Indigenous woman.
29 year-old Chelsea Quaw was last seen at her father’s residence on the Saik’uz First Nations reserve southwest of the City on Wednesday.
Her father says she departed the home on foot, and that she isn’t known to frequent anywhere in the area, as she just arrived a few weeks ago.
Prior to that, Quaw had been living in Houston, and family members say the disappearance is extremely out of character.
Search and rescue crews were deployed on the day of her disappearance, and are continuing to use drones and helicopters to scan the nearby area.
Quaw is described as a 5 foot 10 inch Indigenous woman, weighing 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and may be wearing blue jeans and a purple winter jacket.
Anyone with information which may help locate her is asked to contact Vanderhoof RCMP at 250 567 2222.
