A recent inspection of operations at the Red Chris mine found them to be back in compliance in some areas, but also garnered a warning letter.
Prior inspections conducted by the Environmental Assessment Office in July had found them to be out of compliance with four requirements.
Follow-up inspections from last month found them to finally be in compliance with that order.
They also found them to be actively working to mitigate sediment and erosion control issues brought on by a newly realigned project access road.
But, inspectors also uncovered several areas which were not in compliance with requirements to clean up all hydrocarbon leaks and spills.
A warning letter was issued as a result, which could see them fined up to $1 million if they don’t bring the project back within compliance.
