Indigenous directors and filmmakers looking to put the strength and resiliency of Indigenous women on display on the big screen are in luck.
Carrier Sekani Family Services, and the producers of Netflix’s “Highway of Tears” and “For Love”, are seeking those who want to do just that.
They are planning to create a series of short films which highlight the hope and strength of Indigenous women and their communities.
Titled “We are Hope, We are Strength”, the series will feature the artistic beauty along the Highway of Tears and in Canada, while capturing messages to empower Indigenous women.
Through the series, they hope to inspire engagement through social media challenging viewers to think of what they can do to propel change.
Interedted directors, cinematographers, editors and sound editors are asked to submit proposals via e-mail to mmiwg@csfs.org.
Proposals will be accepted until November 3rd, and should include copies of previous work, and a story of hope and strength you would like to tell.
