A trio of northwestern businesses are among 31 splitting $15 million in Provincial funds for projects which enhance the tourism experience.
Delivered by Destination BC, the funds will help develop and rejuvenate tourism infrastructure, while helping restore revenues to pre-pandemic levels.
Just over $766,000 goes to the Skeena Salmon Arts Festival Society to install a new sculpture at the Terrace roundabout.
$700,000 will go to the District of Kitimat to support the addition of a new recreational dock at Minette Bay Park.
Another $765,000 will help the Bulkley Valley Cross Country Ski Club purchase new equipment, and install interpretive signage and a new accessible outhouse.
In addition, the Province is investing $3 million into a new Tourism Climate Resiliency Initiative aimed at helping businesses adapt to climate change.
