Helen Knott, an Indigenous woman and author, will be speaking at an event at Coast Mountain College along with two other local Indigenous wome business owners for International Women’s Day.
Knott released her second book “Becoming a Matriarch” in August last year, which has been on the best seller list in the Globe and Mail.
Knott spoke with CFNR about her experience in becoming a matriarch and the importance of strong women in her life. She talks about women, memory, land, and water, and how it influences her.
Knott emphasizes the strength and resilience of Indigenous women, highlighting their ability to navigate hard things and find healing. She also discusses the different leadership styles among Indigenous women and the celebration of their unique qualities.
