The City of Terrace announced a new alerting application yesterday that will send out emergency alerts and evacuation orders.

Cooper also talks about this Emergency Preparedness Week, which runs the first week in May and, according to Cooper, this year’s theme is “be prepared and know your risks.”
The chief wants to remind residents in the Terrace area to be aware of the various risks in the area such as wild fire, earthquake, flooding, and landslides, and to plan accordingly for them. Cooper also said an 72 hour kit and is important for households to have, mentioning that kits maybe purchased in various stores or online.
