The Terrace community is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual event, the Emergency Services Bike Rodeo, aimed at educating children on bike safety in a fun and interactive way.
Organized by the Terrace RCMP in partnership with Emergency Service Providers and local businesses, the Bike Rodeo is set to take place on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Terrace Sportsplex.
This free event invites children of all ages to bring their bikes and helmets for an afternoon filled with educational activities. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on demonstrations led by emergency service workers, including helmet fittings and mechanical bike checks.
“The Bike Rodeo is not just about teaching biking skills; it’s about instilling a sense of safety and responsibility on the road from a young age,” emphasized Sergeant Lisa Thompson of the Terrace RCMP. “It’s a fantastic way for children to interact with our emergency responders in a positive setting.”
In addition to the educational activities, attendees can enter a raffle sponsored by Terrace Canadian Tire, with a chance to win a brand-new bicycle.
Families are encouraged to register upon arrival at the event, which will be held in the north parking lot of the Terrace Sportsplex. The event promises to be an informative and enjoyable experience for all involved, fostering community spirit and promoting child safety.
