Ongoing Investigations Seek to Determine Ownership of Seized Items
In recent operations near Substation Road and Queensway Drive, members of the Terrae RCMP made significant seizures and arrests related to illicit activities. On June 16, 2024, RCMP patrols in the area discovered a campsite where numerous individuals were present. Upon inspection, officers found quantities of drugs, knives, and a substantial amount of cash.
According to RCMP reports, the individuals at the camp were promptly arrested after the discovery. However, the ownership of the drugs and knives could not be established, leading authorities to schedule the disposal of these items. The investigation remains active as police work to determine the legal ownership of the cash.
Just over a week later, on June 27, 2024, RCMP officers encountered a suspicious vehicle in the same vicinity. Upon conducting a traffic stop and interacting with the vehicle’s occupants, illegal drugs were visibly present. Subsequent search of the vehicle yielded additional drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Despite the discoveries, RCMP have not filed charges against the occupants at this time, citing ongoing efforts to establish ownership and connections to the seized items.
These incidents underscore ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address drug-related issues in the community. The RCMP continues to urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in their investigations.
