Over the past week, Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 214 calls, with notable incidents including drug-related arrests, multiple traffic violations, and impaired driving cases.
On July 20, RCMP officers patrolling the 4500 block of Queensway Drive discovered a man and woman at an encampment in possession of drug paraphernalia. The man was also found in violation of several court orders, including restrictions on his residence and possession of certain tools. He was arrested and held in custody, later being found guilty of one breach of probation and serving five days in jail.
On July 23, a vehicle was clocked at 108 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. The driver received a speeding ticket and had their vehicle impounded.
-On July 25, another vehicle was detected traveling at 136 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. The driver was fined and their vehicle was impounded for one week.
On July 25, during a routine traffic stop, RCMP officers discovered a replica firearm concealed in the clothing of a male passenger. The man was detained and released with conditions not to possess weapons. The case will be reviewed by BC Prosecution Services.
Also on July 25, RCMP responded to reports of an impaired driver. The woman, who failed a roadside breath test, was arrested, her vehicle was impounded, and she faces charges for impaired driving and driving while prohibited.
