A tragic incident in Terrace on August 27th, 2024, at approximately 6:32 PM, Terrace RCMP and BC Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 16, about 25 kilometers west of Terrace.
Emergency responders arrived to find a sedan overturned in a ditch beside the highway. Despite their efforts, the 35-year-old male passenger from Prince Rupert tragically passed away. The driver of the vehicle survived and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident. The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, or ICARS, is currently investigating the incident.
