On October 3, 2024, RCMP in Terrace conducted a traffic stop after observing a driver of a parked pickup truck interacting with a known drug user. The stop occurred near Munroe Street and Lazelle Avenue. During the interaction, officers noticed drug paraphernalia and weapons, including a knife and bear spray. The driver was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. A search of the vehicle revealed additional items, including ammunition, cannabis, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a firearm.
The man faces further charges for firearms offences, including possession contrary to restrictions and careless use. He has since been released with a court date, and RCMP will submit the investigation findings to BC Prosecution Services.
