A prominent Hereditary Chief and influential figure for the Nisga’a Nation, the late Sim’oogit Hay’maas Chester Moore will be laid to rest in The Nass Valley this week. On Wednesday, he will be transported to the Nisga’a Lisms Government in New Aiyansh and then to St. Andrews Church in Laxgaltsap and then to Christ Church in Gingolx where the memorial will take place that evening at 7pm. He will lie in state there before heading to Gitwinksihlkw on Thursday. Further arrangements that are set for Saturday and Sunday include another memorial as well as the funeral and feast.
