Indigenous students at the College of New Caledonia’s Quesnel campus will now have access to new financial assistance and cultural programming, thanks to a $14,000 donation from the Quesnel Tillicum Society Native Friendship Centre.
The funds will help students achieve their educational and career goals through various initiatives, including:
- Bursaries: Twelve $500 grants to assist with expenses like tuition, textbooks, and living costs.
- Hardship Fund: Financial aid for students facing short-term challenges.
- Cultural Fund: Up to $4,000 to support cultural events and activities, such as Culture Week and monthly Elder visits to the campus.
These initiatives aim to provide culturally safe services and meaningful support to Indigenous students.
