At the Coast Mountain College, International student numbers have been down due to the immigration, refugees, and citizenship Canada policy, but local residents are keeping numbers up.
Heather Bastin, the Executive Director at the terrace campus, says
“Last semester, the college had approximately 1,667 students in academic and trades programs across the campuses, while international students make up 18 to 25 percent of the student population.”
She also stated that they expect the number of international students will decline due to the federal government policy changes, and current students graduating in may. meanwhile, the college is seeing an increase in domestic enrollment.
So far this year, the school has not made any major changes to college programming or college services, the college will be watching carefully over the next couple of months to determine if any changes are needed.
