Residents in Fort Nelson are advised that Emergency Department services at Fort Nelson General Hospital will be unavailable from 9:00 p.m. tonight (Feb. 11) to 7:00 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 12) due to staffing shortages.
For life-threatening emergencies, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, or severe bleeding, call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest appropriate facility. Signage will be posted at the hospital, and patient transfer services have been notified.
For non-urgent care, the NH Virtual Primary & Community Care Clinic is available at 1-844-645-7811 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Indigenous patients can access the First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day at 1-855-344-3800. Pharmacists can also assist with minor ailments and prescriptions.
