Two men have been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in northern BC that occurred in November 2018. Cameron Kerr was struck by a vehicle while walking along Highway 16 near Terrace. His body was discovered later that day after being allegedly moved into a ditch. The investigation, initially handled by BC Highway Patrol, was transferred to the RCMP’s Major Crime Special Projects Unit due to its complexity.
After a lengthy investigation, which included tips from the public and evidence from the scene, Taylor Stogryn, 36, and Conrad Wierzbicki, 34, both from Surrey, were arrested. Stogryn faces additional charges for failure to stop at the scene of an accident, while both men are charged with indignity to human remains and obstructing justice.
The case has now advanced to the courts, with both men set to appear in the near future. The RCMP expressed their appreciation for the community’s patience throughout the investigation.
