The Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation is visiting Tahltan Territory for the first time, aiming to engage with local communities and further the province’s reconciliation efforts. Over three days, the Minister will participate in a series of community events across the region.
On March 25, the Minister will begin the tour in Dease Lake with a community tour followed by a dinner at the Recreation Centre. The next day, she will visit Telegraph Creek for a community tour and lunch before heading to Iskut for tea with Elders, a community tour, and a dinner at the Community Hall. The final day of the tour, March 27, will include a visit to the Red Chris site with local leadership.
These events are part of the ministry’s ongoing work to strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities and advance reconciliation efforts in the province. For more details, residents can reach out to communications@tahltan.org.
