To help residents get to the polls on federal election day, BC Transit and local government partners across B.C. are offering free transit on Monday, April 28, 2025. This initiative makes it easier for voters to cast their ballots. The decision to offer free transit is made by local governments in each community.
Communities participating in the free transit program include:
- Bella Coola
- Dawson Creek
- Fort St. John (includes handyDART)
- Hazeltons (excluding Highway 16 regional route 164)
- Kitimat (includes handyDART)
- Port Edward
- Prince Rupert (includes handyDART)
- Quesnel (includes handyDART)
- Skeena (excluding Route 11 Terrace-Kitimat Regional Connector)
- Smithers (excluding Highway 16 regional routes 162 and 163; service hours may be extended)
- Williams Lake (includes handyDART)
